Membership Application

Thank you for your interest in applying for a DATCU account.

Membership Eligibility

Each applicant must be a US citizen or a permanent resident alien with a valid social security number or tax identification number. The primary applicant must be 18 years of age or older on individual accounts. Additionally, to qualify for membership in most circumstances, you should meet at least one of following criteria:

  • Live or work in the following counties: Clay, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Grayson, Jack, Montague, Parker, Tarrant, or Wise
  • Be employed by or associated with a DATCU business partner
  • Be related to a member associated with a business partner

In accordance with the requirements of the USA Patriot Act recently implemented by the United Stated Federal Government, you will be required to come in person to one of our office locations to open an account. When you come in, you will be asked to provide a valid Texas driver’s license (or valid license from the state of your current residence).

Important Information About Opening a New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, U.S. Federal law requires financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person (individuals and businesses) who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask for your driver's license or other identifying documents.

You authorize the credit union to check your credit and employment history for the purpose of approving accounts including credit products and services. The credit union is authorized to request and use your credit reports and to answer questions about its credit experience with you. All new accounts are verified through ChexSystems.

By continuing with this online application process, you agree that the disclosures (agreement) required to be provided at the time of application will be provided electronically. Read the information below carefully before consenting to receive information electronically at this website and via electronic mail ("email).

To receive this information electronically, access, and retain any disclosures received, you will need a desktop or laptop personal computer with a minimum web browser version of Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape Navigator 6.0, and the ability to receive and read email.

You will also need access to a printer or the ability to download and save the disclosures and information in order to keep copies for your records.
